Cradle cap!!

My son is 3 months old (will be 4 months next week) & he has pretty severe cradle cap. He started getting it when he was about 2 months old. I have tried everything suggested by friends and family and online for treatment at home. It’s taken most of his hair. He had a beautiful head of hair and he lost 98% of it from cradle cap so we had to shave his head since he was left with literally 3 patches of hair. I can remove the cradle cap before bed then by the next morning it’s back. Should I see his GP for a medicated shampoo / cream??

Definitely see the GP. We"very been prescribed a urea cream

My son had cradle cap more on his forehead than in his hair. I put my breastmilk on it, and in his hair. Over a short period of time it became less and less and didn’t grow in his hair. If you’re breastfeeding, try that. Dentinox is apparently good too but I never tried, that would have been my next option if breastmilk didn’t work. X

We used the Frida baby brush set thing and has worked wonders!

My HV told us to put coconut oil on it at night, leave it on, then in the morning wash and brush his head. (my little one has lost his hair too) We did this a few times and it’s improved massively! He still has a little bit left, but we’re hoping it goes soon!

Vaseline worked for us. Put Vaseline on at night and wash off in the morning. I would use my nails gently to get it off or a little soft brush. My daughters went within a week doing this x

Olive oil xx

@Emily ditto, also used Friday brush, was amazing

Baby oil with a cotton pad got a lot off, then shampood her hair, did this for every bath 2/3 times a week and it’s nearly gone now

Stubborn cradle cap can be a symotom of CMPA x

My son had bad cradle cap since 1 month old, it would go and come right back, it did turn out my son has CMPA but the doctors prescribed us a cream like canesten to fight yeast and it has cleared right up and his hair is now growing back beautifully x
