Does anyone here use talc/baby powder? I feel like it would be so useful for my babies neck but heard so many bad things about it

We don't use it, and also haven't felt the need to be honest. If you DO use it, make sure it doesn't contain talc. However I wouldn't use it on the neck, the problem with baby powder is also that they breathe in the particles when you use it. It might not seem much to us, but it's quite a bit for their little lungs, and close to the face would be even worse. Maybe some barrier cream or vaseline?

Not used it myself but aware you can get liquid talc for babies too which I assume is better re what Giorgia explained 😌 never used it though so would advise doing your own research

i literally bought some liquid talc from home bargains yesterday used it last night it’s amazing x

What's the reason for use please 🙏

You can use baby powder but nothing with actual talc in so read the ingredients xx

I use talc free talc which is basically corn flour. But rarely use it

I used it on both my first children. However, my mom worked for a brick making company, and at the quarry, there is a by-product of mining (can't remember what it's called) it's basically waste and they don't use it in the production of the actual bricks. Another company approached them to purchase this by-product/waste to use as a filler in their talc. After my mom told me this, I swore off ever using talc power for anything ever.

Hey - I don’t use but have found a talc free baby powder. Message me for link if you wish xx

I used baby powder with my first most of the time and it was great especially helped when they had a bath and it made it easier to keep the folds/crevices dry and no moisture to cause sores, it is also good for nappy rash too when it’s sore and irritated with friction and wet nappies, it made it easier to dress them too as the clothes wouldn’t stick to their newly washed skin

I use talc after every bath for under her arms and in her neck crease and it’s done no harm x

I use baby powder to ensure any creases in arms or legs don’t sweat and become moist and smelly, like bacteria. I used it after I use a lavender and camomile baby oil gel (not oily at all). I also use it in LO’s neck.

I use liquid talc xx

I also use liquid talc, or nappy cream if he’s particularly sicky/dribbly!

I use it Tesco own brand and Johnson’s that one being my favourite I was against it when he was a newborn because I kept seeing things online but I used it on myself as a baby and now 32 years later so my 3 month old has talc I think the air is more dangerous than talc if he has a sweaty neck use it! I use it all over my babe, They say about cancers etc but let’s be honest it’s 1 in 3 maybe even 1 in 2 and not everyone uses talc. So I think there’s bigger issues at play not just talc but ultimately it’s up to you!! No issues with both brands if you want to stay away from Johnson’s Tesco is good and so is asdas xx

So Johnson’s baby powder is actually cornstarch now (not sure about previously) I grew up being plastered in baby powder 😂 as someone else said I’m sure plenty of us did. I do have Johnson’s but I rarely use it as I don’t feel the need to - heard the liquid talc is good x Oh what I did use when baby was younger was Calendula powder xx

A dermatologist adviced to use corn starch instead. You could give it a try.
