I just flew at 30/31 weeks and went through the metal detector only not the X-ray. Just make sure to tell them you’re expecting
Make sure you get travel insurance INPORTANT
Take plenty of water - I find flying when pregnant even more dehydrating than usual x
@Jessica just to clarify. No one at any airport is going through an xray. Unless you are a stowaway in someone’s luggage…. The body scans use radio waves and are completely safe for pregnancy.
@Claire there was two different machines at the airport I flew out of. Everyone except for myself and my babies had to go in that one. TSA directed me through the metal detector only. I don’t need clarification but thank you. The other one was unsafe for me to use. I was letting OP know to let them know she was expecting
@Jessica the clarification is that the machine you were directed away from still doesn’t use xrays….
@Claire again, not needed thank you.
You will not go through any xray! The luggage scan uses xray but the options for you are the body scan or the metal detector, both completely safe for pregnancy :) As for the airplane ride, you’ll want to get up to walk around every once in a while and if you’ve been sick, have quick access to the bathroom. I’d recommend an aisle seat!
