Activities for bright kids

Hey mamas! My baby is 1.5 YO and super bright (I don’t know how because my partner and I were not like this when we were small 🤣). She can count to 50 in two languages, speaks non stop in full phrases and loves the alphabet and simple counting etc. I wasn’t ready for this and I feel like she’s getting bored of our usual activities. Does anyone have any activities that will keep encouraging her learning but not sort of force her to start being ‘educated’. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Does it continue to motor skills? Putting on or off clothes? Pouring?

Like Megan’s saying is she exceeding in all areas? Maybe spend more time on the areas that she’s not as advanced in so that she’s well rounded and not just mental skills physical as well. Even things like you can get kid friendly knives that are safe and doing a tiny bit of cooking together just cutting something simple and then counting the pieces x

Yes physically she’s well ahead - she can dress herself, do forward rolls, likes chopping fruit (with Montessori knife)

I try drawing and painting etc and she loves that but again it’s a bit boring

I mean boring as in we do it everyday

My daughter is not that advanced but I was looking for similar information. I am looking into homeschool curriculums for bright toddlers. If she is talking in full sentences maybe get kindergarten workbooks.

Mine has just turned two and we try and pick a new thing or two every week to learn to keep it fresh. Left and right by making her wear two different shoes and playing Hokey Pokey. Sorting and patterns. We throw in basic spelling when we paint or color. We do phonics every day. Adding with yogurt melts or strawberries. Tons of pretend play so she can play with understanding social interaction and emotions and stuff.

Going outside for her to walk and observe is also a good option! Just giving her time to observe nature and cars etc. they don’t need to have stimulation at all times and being bored can also be a good thing! I’m a teacher and I tell my students all the time boredom fosters creativity and imagination.

Hey @Christina I completely agree but I’m finding it hard to let her ‘be bored’. If I’m at all nearby she just starts to hand me toys and ask me to play or to help her with something 🤣 she knows how to get me involved! She even sometimes tells me she’s hurt herself because she knows I won’t ignore that
