Sensitive topic for a lot of people, I’m not a big fan of anti vaxxers so I’m staying out of this one. Go with your gut and just do what you think is best. 🙂

I’m delaying my kids til 6 months and then only getting what they need for school

Hey mama! I felt the same way and the topic is soooo fucking political when it shouldn’t be. I’m going to request this book “The Vaccine Book” by Robert W Sears. After reading that book I only got my baby 3 vaccines. Rotavirus, DtaP and Hib because that was what I was comfortable doing so young. Like why do we give babies polio vaccines if there are zero cases of polio in the US a year ya know?

Not going to lie, I’m not big on vaccinations for myself but I also didn’t let my own belief system stand in the way of research for my daughter. You don’t have to say yes to every vaccine and please ask your questions so you’re fully informed. But as the partner to an epidemiologist it became harder for me to justify not getting vaccinated especially when diseases like the measles which had been under control, are now back on the rise. To answer your question without judgment, if you choose not to get your child vaccinated and they do catch something it could become fatal depending on the severity. It’s like the mom above said, you really just have to exercise your best judgement

https://drsuzanne.net/dr-suzanne-humphries-vaccines-vaccination/ Dr Humphries is a good resource if you want to understand the vaccine skeptics. She has a book called "Dissolving Illusions" that is quite interesting but very long. I attached a link to her website which gives a general overview.

@Kennedy to genuinely answer your question, nonpolitically - we vaccinate for polio because there are still endemics in the world. If someone brought it to the US and there wasn’t herd immunity, it would cause a polio outbreak leading to paralysis and fatality. Babies, who don’t have a mature immune system, would bear the brunt of it, which is why it’s given starting at 2 months old. If enough parents don’t vaccinate, there could very well be polio cases in the US again.

i’d say research the specific vaccines & only get the ones you find necessary like tdap & rsv if your baby will be around school age children or near elderly like grandparents!

Dr green mom and just the inserts on Instagram are very vax neutral resources for your research. You can always delay or space them out. Just make sure your pediatrician is on the same page as you. If not dr green mom has a list of like minded drs. Good luck!

I don't know if "skipping the jabs" should be enough reason to skip all vaccines. Do your research. https://drgreenmom.com/category/vaccines/ Also, there are other options than just yes and no vax. You can look into delayed schedules, too. Even if you do decide you're all the way against them, you can change your mind later as many of these vaccines are available through adulthood, too.
