Gastric Distress

My baby is 9 weeks old & is formula fed. We increased his bottles in the last day by an extra ounce because he was comfortably finishing them & has seemed to be hungry. He is now having 150ml per feed. However, today he has cried after every feed - pain cries rather than hunger cries. I stop & regularly attempt to burp him throughout his feeds. Could the crying just be trapped gas? Or is it over feeding for his age? Worried that he’s in pain & not sure how to alleviate it.

Could be trapped gas, have you tried anything to relieve it in case it is? I tend to rub my girls belly like a mini massage then grab both her legs(bottom halves) and do a clockwise motion kind of pressing her thighs into her belly kinda as I go round, I usually do 3 circles then repeat a few times. If no trumps come out after 3 cycles of it, I stop, but otherwise I keep going till the trumps stop😂

Thanks for the tips. I think it must be trapped gas but I have been trying to relieve it with bicycle legs etc like you suggest. It’s super distressing when he’s upset like that. 😪

My chunky girl was on 150ml at about 4/5 weeks and I stressed loads about overfeeding, but I think they know when they're full. She just cried and cried until I fed her (after trying everything else first), so I knew she was hungry. She's nearly 5 months now and has settled down with feeding and pushes the bottle away when she's done. As for the trapped gas, I found gently bouncing her on my knee while patting her back was the best way to get wind up, and bicycle legs for the other end 😅
