For congestion I use nose drops and the nose frida before feeds if he’s congested. It’s usually worse at night I guess because he’s lying down and there’s more opportunity for it to build up. Can you get to a lactation consultant? Congestion can be caused by reflux (although there are many reasons including CMPA and tongue tie). We used the council provided service which was great. That being said it could also be a standard cold but always worth checking feeding anyway xx
Throwing up and congestion could indicate reflux. As the stomach acid is coming up it’s irritating her nasal passages and cause congestion. Does she have spit bubbles in her mouth? And when she’s unsettled does she want to be held upright?
@Madeleine yes exactly her congestion is worse at night when shes sleeping. i have an appointment at a feeding clinic today, hopefully it will help.
@Halima yes she does sometimes spit up bubbles and cottage-cheese-like stuff. She also gets really upset just before vomiting or spitting up.
@Elisha thank you, I’ll give the saline spray and the nasal suction a try x
My girl has the same, the gp has said it is reflux
Can you call NCT to find local support with latching?
Same here with the congestion, I’ve been using a saline spray and a nasal suction and that’s been helping x
