Bath after c section

How long did you wait until having a bath after c section? I am 5 and half weeks PP so wondering if now would be ok? I was so excited to have a hot bath after being pregnant but an unplanned c section has just made me wait a little bit longer 🄲

I was told 6 weeks but waited a little longer as i had a slight infection on the scar at about week 2. If you've been healing well you should be more than fine

As long as you’re healing ok I’d say about 3 weeks. I asked my midwife after 3 weeks and she said it was fine. Just gently pat it when you get out to make sure it’s dry xxx

I waited 2 weeks but made sure to pat dry my incision after

I was also dying for a hot bath after an unplanned section!! I waited until my GP signed me off at my 6 week check up, but he did say I could have had one earlier as my scar had healed completely so if you’re all healed, you’ll be fine x

Wait about 2-3 weeks I found this helped my suture dissolve :) they took their time Make sure your wound is fully knitted together though and like others sat pat it dry

1.5/2 weeks I think but all depends on how you heal personally and be careful with what goes in the bath

7 weeks - not for any reason other than if only had time for v quick showers before then šŸ˜…

i’m 9.5 weeks and still haven’t , my wound was open until 7/8 weeks post partum so i’m gunna wait until 14 weeks so it’s been ā€œhealedā€ for 6 weeks x

Same as Olivia, I still haven't had one and my baby is three months old but it took ages for my scar to close so I've been patient.

I think I’ve waited 3 months but felt physically comfortable from 4 months

I had a shallow bath around 4 weeks pp in order not to soak the wound, and then a proper bath at 6 weeksā˜ŗļø I think as long as your wounds looking okay - no signs of infection and the incision is fully knitted together x

7 weeks xx

10 days. I would never have imagined that being safe but I was at my hospital for something else 8 days pp and I popped into obstetrics unit to have my scar checked out and I was told not only that everything was healing well but also that it was by then completely watertight and I can bath all I want. It was still red and I had pains on one side when moving, so I was very sceptical and a bit scared to take my first bath but also dying for a bath so tried it. It was amazing. The skin layer heals faster than the rest. Obviously everyone is different but if your hospital is nearby and you really want a bath, have it checked x

I was told the only precaution to take would be potential sensitivity to hot water, but I didn’t have it

6 to 8 weeks because of stitches was told couldn’t swim or bathe only shower and rinse with the douche
