I had the same this time round as I did with my first. I had a scan bang on 32 weeks and baby weighing at 4lbs 4. My son was born at 40+6 and weighed 8lbs 4 so am expecting the same this time round.
5lb 1oz at 32+4
My daughter was almost 10lb at 32 weeks she was 4lb I was told she wouldn’t make it past 7lb ( off one of the growth scans where they give fetal weight ) had her at 39weeks she started gaining 1lb a week at end so I was induced. Now am pregnant again I had a growth scan at 31 weeks they told me baby is 3lb 6oz which I am telling you now it total bullshit (my first daughter is only 11 months old I know what a big baby feels like) this baby has also been head down since 20 weeks which I know isn’t a indicator of fetal weight but it is for the space I’ve got in there Everyone has always said growth scan are off, for my first it was accurate but this time definitely not so don’t take it too seriously in my opinion I’ve got a appointment at 38weeks to see if baby is big and if I need to be induced again ( I know she’s going to be over 9lb by then ) they don’t listen at all make sure you put your foot down get as many scans as you can. Overall tho I loved having a big baby
But some babies can be 4lb/5lb at 32 weeks and come out 7/8lb a lot of my friends had this.
At 31weeks baby was 3lb 13oz. I have another scan next Wednesday.
our boy is measuring 4.2 at 30+5 and estimated to be around 9ibs if that helps. i think he’s around the 85th percentile.
My boy was 3lb8 and 30 weeks then 6lb5 at 36 weeks. Born 40+4 at 7lb 7. Current baby is 3lb11 at 32 weeks. 4-6lb in 8 weeks is a lot. I was told half a pound a week after 35 weeks and I’d say you’re looking around the 8lb mark based on this, but these scans aren’t always that accurate so I wouldn’t stress!
@kelly I’m in almost the same boat! My first baby weighed 9 lb 10oz at birth, so this time they did a growth scan at 32 weeks to see if second baby is tracking the same. The scan put him at 4 lb 1.5 oz, slightly below average. Now, at 34 weeks, he feels much bigger to me, so either the measurement was off or he’s had a major growth spurt in the past couple of weeks. I have another scan scheduled for 36 weeks.. whatever it shows, I’ll be surprised if this baby comes in under 9 lb! I also loved having a big baby!😊
@Nora awww, honestly they don’t listen I feel like I am going crazy. I am glad you’ve got a scan at 36 weeks hopefully it’s accurate. They aren’t giving me one till I am 38 weeks because “if they do it earlier (37) the baby might not be big enough and something will be missed” which I find crazy I was hoping for a growth scan 36-37 weeks and to be induced at 37 weeks tbh😓
I had a growth scan this week at 32+2 and baby estimated to be 4lb 7oz. My first pregnancy was extremely similar at this stage and my first baby was born at 41 weeks at 7lb 15oz.
@Lauren phew, this is reassuring! I’m really hoping for a 7lb ish baby!
I was told at 38 weeks my firstborn was over 10lbs and they wanted to induce me, I got to 41+2 with her and she was born at 8lbs5. Honestly the scans can be wildly inaccurate! With my second they estimated him to be 4lbs when they had to deliver him at 36 weeks, he was 6lbs9. The scans are great to know babies growing and visibly see that their doing well but that’s basically all I take from them now x
At 31+5 i was 4lb1 and this had dropped from the 90th percentile to around the 60th, wondering what it will be next week!
I'm in the same situation. Having growth scans because baby was small. Had a scan today and shot up from 20th to just over 50th and weighing around 4lb 11oz on scan at 33+2
