Measuring small

29 weeks, midwife said my bump is measuring small so I have been sent for 2 additional ultrasound scans. Did say that size of bump doesn't necessarily mean baby is small, but really hoping thus isn't going to mean i will need to be induced earlier as I've had a previous c section and really want to try for a natural birth this time. Anyone had a similar experience?

my first born measured small but it was all fine. he was born naturally at a birth centre on his due date and was 6lbs 8oz when born, he was absolutely perfect. measuring small didn’t make us high risk or anything hence the birth centre experience which was amazing, so don’t panic! a lot of the time they’re wrong about these things anyway as there’s only so many ways they can measure without actually seeing the baby themselves haha, so sizing is never accurate and i think doctors like to do a lot of scare mongering. i have GD and baby measuring large this pregnancy, and the hospital have been scare mongering massively whereas the midwives are a lot better with this sort of thing so try not to take too much notice, just go to your appointments and it just means you get to see baby more haha xxx

yes, and the ultrasound measurements were extremely off. if baby is growing that’s all that matters. i declined induction due to “small size” and had a natural birth!

Thank you both, have my first growth scan on Friday so will keep this all in mind

I was sent for a grown scan due to a small measurement on the day I went into labour (never got the scan). Baby was 4kg and 75th percentile. Bump measurements are often pretty inaccurate

I’ve just commented this on someone elses post that’s similar… hope this helps you too!! I was measuring small… they spoke about induction at 37 weeks but that didn’t happen… they then kept saying he’s small… My boy came 9 days “late” and weighed 6lb 14oz. To me he wasn’t “late” he just gave himself that little bit extra time in there to grow (I believe anyway!!) Honestly these measurements are SO rough and if they have MAJOR concerns of course they’ll intervene but I genuinely believe your body will do the right thing, you’ll be absolutely fine!! My boy is nearly 9 months old and is still only in 3-6 month clothing! I’m petite and his dad is tall and slim!! Everyone is different and so are babies!!! You’re all good mama!!🫶🏻 Oh and my bump was “small” the whole pregnancy I mean… it was big enough to me but to others not so much!
