Measuring two weeks behind

Hi! I’m measuring two weeks behind currently I’ve had two ultrasounds and from the first to second one there has been growth within the baby and a heartbeat. (First ultrasound was an er one when I was super early) Has anyone experienced this and it been okay? Currently 8 weeks and 3 days.

Hey love, just please remember there measurements aren’t completely accurate. I had a scan 1 weeks before I delivered was told my baby measured 7lbs 1oz and he was born 6lbs. As long as babies heart rate is healthy all is good xxx

@Hayley you’re so sweet for your reply! The heart rate was very strong at 175! I feel like it’ll be okay but the doctors here have had me on edge since the start. I went thru a birth center the first time and this has been a whole other experience that’s been new. 🥹

As them to dip your pee and tell you your hcg level that will give you a good indicator on how things are currently going. That’s a lovely strong heartbeat. I’m absolutely sure it’ll be okay. Setting big hugs xx

Could be you ovulated at a different time then expected. Usually the earliest ultrasounds aren’t as accurate. If there’s any concerns you’ll be sent to a high risk doctor. I’m a mom that has had growth restriction with 2 out of 3 kids. Coming from Someone who actually is having this problem, go to appointments, don’t miss. The doctor will keep you posted if you need more monitoring.

@Vanny this is definitely a possibility. I do also struggle with Pcos however I do have normal periods. (I know that doesn’t mean much for ovulation though) it’s more so my sac is measuring also bigger than what the baby is. I have another apportionment may 7th which will include a 3rd ultrasound. I guess i just needed ease of mind until I can get to that appointment. 🥺

@Amber if it makes you feel any better, they don’t start monitoring for growth restriction until 20 weeks. That’s whenever I get sent into the high-risk doctor and then after that I have to go every month until seven months. That’s when I will go every two weeks and if I’m correct at eight months, I go every week. But you don’t need the extra monitoring until you’re further along in your pregnancy. So enjoy the beginning of it ,ease your mind ,you’ll be OK.❤️

@Vanny thank you so much angel. I truly appreciate the help and the advice you’ve given me. You definitely eased my mind. I guess reading on my results that they need to do another ultrasound to see if the fetus was “viable” sent me on another mental journey. I truly hope everything for the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly. ❤️❤️

If you’re measuring more each time you’re probably good. Based on my period I should be like 12-14 weeks but I’m 9-10 weeks because I guess I ovulated late but everything’s fine.

I measured two weeks behind until I reach 25 weeks then I measured 2 weeks ahead my due date. Ended up having her 2 weeks early and she was a healthy 7.12 lbs. 🫶

Ultrasounds aren’t always accurate. Don’t depend on it. After my 37 week ultrasound, I was told my daughter would be born at 5lbs 1oz and need to be in NICU for underdeveloped lungs. She was born at 38 weeks after a horrible induction and weighed 6lbs 8oz, completely healthy. I’m now pregnant with my second baby and keep getting told he’s measuring 2 weeks ahead but I just can’t believe it. I’m trusting my body and God with my baby’s growth, doctors just can’t tell what’s actually going on in there.

Scans can be up to a pound off! They told me estimated weight for my son was 6 lbs 2 oz he was born at 7 lbs 4.4 oz

I was measuring small… they spoke about induction at 37 weeks but that didn’t happen… they then kept saying he’s small… My boy came 9 days “late” and weighed 6lb 14oz. To me he wasn’t “late” he just gave himself that little bit extra time in there to grow (I believe anyway!!) Honestly these measurements are SO rough and if they have MAJOR concerns of course they’ll intervene but I genuinely believe your body will do the right thing, you’ll be absolutely fine!! My boy is nearly 9 months old and is still only in 3-6 month clothing! I’m petite and his dad is tall and slim!! Everyone is different and so are babies!!! You’re all good mama!!🫶🏻
