Stomach gurgling

I’ve noticed over the last few days, my baby will drink a whole bottle, then around 15 mins later he will be screaming and you can hear his stomach gurgling. (He burps during and after each feed) When I eventually manage to sooth him he will be calm for 10-15 mins then start screaming and this can happen for a couple hours. Anyone got the same/know what’s going on? It’s horrible seeing him scream and cry like this, I don’t know what’s changed

Is he still hungry maybe?

Sounds like colic/trapped wind. How old is little one? X

@Sarah I’ve tried offering another bottle and he won’t take it

@Christie he’s 1 month, what would you try to help x

We’ve been using gripe water which has worked really well, might be worth a try? I give her some in the morning and some in the evening x

Has he got any other symptoms I.e rash constipation it could me CMPA

Are you doing bicycle legs? Really helps my little one. She started doing something similar at 4 weeks old, out of the blue. Lots of trial & error and we think we've finally cracked it now at 6 weeks, that she's just really uncomfortable & needs to pass gas or poop x

We use infacol on our little one. It's really really helped her. So before every feed we give her some. It helps her gas to come out as one massive burp or fart. We are now into week 2 of using it and the benefits have been really good. She is much happier and not in discomfort half as much as she was.

@Christie I’ll pick some up and give it a try, thank you x

@Hayley no other symptoms

@Steph I’ve been trying bicycle legs but he often won’t relax his legs so I can do it if that makes sense? But it’s interesting you had similar, I’ll keep trying x

@natalie wow, ok, I’ll get some of this too and try either this or gripe water. With the infacol do you just keep giving it? How do you know when to stop?

Yes! We have this! Infacol has really helped as well as baby massage, bicycle legs and just burping frequently - even when not feeding I also googled about how long you give infacol for as I'd used it got a few days then stopped. Huge mistake + you can use it long term

@Ashley right ok, thank you! Just so odd how it started randomly one day but I’ll give this all a try

We've been giving it to her every feed. I suppose it depends on how you feel, maybe gripe water will be easier and cheaper in the long run. I'm not sure when a baby's digestive tract matures enough really, probably around 6 months as they move onto more soft foods. So I would imagine the gas becomes less of a problem around that age maybe. I'm a first time mum so I'm not sure.
