Baby not pooping

My 6weeks old hasn't been pooping for days , I use grownsy colic and gas reliver and only that helps. I don't think he's constipated as well but he doesn't poop by himself unless I use the stick. What can I do ? Anyone please? And I've used the stick for like 4 times in 8 days , yesterday I saw a very little blood on the stick but not on the whole poop I think the stick disturbed him I feel bad about that . Anybody please?

Is he on formula or breast milk?

My son was like that as an infant he wouldn’t poop regular so I had to change formula as well as used glycerin suppository to help him

My first was breast fed and would go days sometimes the occasional full week without pooping. My second is formula fed and he has gone 3 days without pooping and then oh boy lookout lol If you're concerned speak with your dr

@Raynelle he is on formula but he's been on same formula from the first day do you think I should change now ? He was doing okay all these time but for the past 8-10days I don't know what's wrong

It may be the formula. Try a gentle ease formula if he is not on that already. However I would also speak to his doctor and see if they are ok with giving him a small about of water to help.

Massage his belly and move his legs around in a circular motion if his lower belly feels tight/firm make an appointment and see what his doctor suggests. I worked with pediatricians so what I can say is if he’s crying and in pain from being backed up take him in if he’s not crying and his belly is not firm as if he’s backed up just massage and move his legs around and make an appointment to see about what food might work best for him.

@Raynelle I had to switch to gentlease for this exact reason!

Stop using the sticks! It’s fine for baby to go up to 5 days without a poop. They have to learn how to work their body and they can’t do that if you keep interfering

Stir formula instead of shaking it because it will omit most of the bubbles causing gas(or let it sit and settle), bicycle legs, and use ILU tummy massage. Do it at diaper changes and stop using the stick. You'll cause baby to only be able to poo that way, and it'll be even harder to poo as he starts solids, and then potty training will be an absolute nightmare. You'll cause weak sphincter muscles. Add a little vaseline to his bum if you're super worried, but stop entering it. Baby is only considered constipated if the poo comes out hard as a rock after several days. Babies' bodies grow often, and it's very well possible that his body is simply using more nutrients from the formula than before, causing less stool.

Infant dyschezia? Sticks can delay them learning how to poop on their own but i used the Frida Windys regularly and he has it figured out at 3 months now

What kind of formula?

Culturelle probiotics saved me when this was happening with my little one

Gas drops make them constipated, don’t give any more until he poops and stop using the sticks, they can become dependent on them.

My girl was like this. She was on Enfamil Neuropro. We switched to the gentlease version. Also doing a lot of bicycle kicks or holding her in a sitting position but pulling her legs up (as if she was using a squatty potty). ILU massage also helped her in the beginning. She pooped so much in one go after this. Start on the right side of her belly and massage up. Then start again but massage up and then left. Do it again and go up, left, down. This follows the direction of the large intestine and can help move the poop along.
