NHS Appointments

I just got my first scan appointment, which says it’s for first trimester, but by my calendar I will be nearly 17 weeks! Is this normal? Should I contact the hospital? I’m currently 7 weeks and have a private scan booked for this coming Monday

Should be 12 weeks x

You should have your first midwife appointment at 10 weeks, and your first scan at 12 weeks, ours was actually 13 weeks. I would definitely speak to your midwife about this schedule. Hope the private scan goes well

So do I contact them?

I haven’t even had my first appointment yet, but at least it’s in about 2 weeks

Your first scan should be from 10-14 weeks, usually around 12.

They try and do the booking in appointment with the midwife around 7-12 weeks. The dating scan usually 10-14 weeks and the anatomy scan usually 18-24 weeks. It just depends when they can book you in. With my first I had my booking in appointment at 8 weeks. 1st scan at 12 weeks and 2md scan at 20 weeks. This is what they recommend but isn't always possible. You can ask your midwife team why it's so late but that is probably the earliest they can book you in for

I managed to talk to someone in the department and it’s just a mistake they made while setting up the appointment, so everything will get fixed 😊

Yes, should be 12-14 weeks. Try to reschedule
