That happened to me and the scan was all healthy. Have you had the scan?
@Sarah no I’m still waiting for a letter or something to come through my badger app or nhs app it feels like it’s taking forever. This is my second child but I didn’t take more tests after knowing I was pregnant the first time, this time around I have abit more anxiety due to other reasons
I'd definitely chase your 12 week scan as you're supposed to have it between 12-14 weeks!
@Kelly I can’t contact my midwife, she doesn’t leave her number anymore. I tried ringing the midwife base and they said the hospital I’m wanting to have my child at is having issues with it being more busy than usual. Explained that they don’t go over 14+1 so if I didn’t hear from anyone by then I’d have to wait till 20 weeks unless I paid for a private scan🫠 my midwife did contact me last week and said she’d try chase it up for me but pretty much said all I can do is wait and I’ll get a letter at some point but I’m so impatient. I’m more than happy to pay for a private scan but knowing my luck I’ll get a letter a couple days after.
It definitely shouldn't be down to you to book a private scan as the NHS need to do the chromosome tests (if you wish to have them done) and they can only be down between 12 and 14 weeks! That's really bad though. I get they're busy but I'd say leave it until maybe Monday and chase it up again? I've had my 12 week scan booked in for like 6 weeks. I'm 12 weeks today but it's not till next week.
@Kelly I’m definitely going to chase it up again on Monday. Thankyou so much for replying. probably sound like a pest to my midwife or even the hospital but I just want to know my baby’s okay. Not going to bore anyone with the sympathy card but my stepdad passed on Saturday so my emotions have been 10 times worse and I’m even more anxious incase my sadness and stress has effected my bubba. I didn’t have any of these problems with my first child I had my 12 week scan booked for when I was 11. And I’m just really impatient in general, constantly checking my apps to see if an appointment has been put through and constantly checking the door for a letter, the feeling I get when there’s nothing there just makes me abit sad. I had a scan at 8 weeks (private scan) and I feel like from 8 weeks to now it’s been so long if you get what I mean?
I'm sure they've had worse 🤣 you're only doing what any other expectant Mum would do! Oh bless you, it's been a really tough week then and I completely understand! It'd be the best thing ever to see your little bubs up on the screen and wriggling around! But don't forget your placenta takes over at 12 weeks so if you don't feel pregnant anymore, there's nothing to worry about as you're almost in the second trimester where you start feeling a bit better in yourself! Stay positive, you'll be able to see your baby in no time and it'll be tears of happiness!
your hCg is too strong for the test to pick up, so yes it will be faint at 12 weeks! theres a little test called the hook test that will make you feel better, it doesn’t always work but it did for me! if you take a test as normal, then take a second test but tip out half of your urine and put water in it like half urine half water, and the one that is dialuted will be darker! But nothing to worry about it’s supposed to be lighter as you have so much hcg now! 🩷
