New mom 😄

Hi everyone ! I just found out 3 days ago that I’m 5 weeks pregnant with my first baby. Low key freaking out but excited😄My mom does ultrasound at an ER and I’m planning to go see her for some “pain” and reveal it to her 😅. I’m dying to tell her and have some advice. My first appointment with the doc is may 28. Im so eager to learn and would love for you guys to share any info on what I should be doing to help the baby grow healthy. Any food recommendations what to eat what not to eat? What vitamins? Workouts?

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! 🎉🎊 Take prenatal vitamins, it helps with milk supply also if you drink body armor that also helps a lot with milk supply! Don’t eat sushi! No lunch meat, if you eat steak make sure there is no pink this is my second baby currently 5w 5d today and I just found out you can’t have pink steak lol even tho it’s early don’t lay on your tummy (found out you still can’t even early on)

Congrats! Recommend no deli meat unless microwaved or heated up enough to kill possible listeria. No unpasteurized cheese. No kombucha. If you're unsure about eating or drinking something, Google it and do a little research. Walking and stretches, don't start any new workouts that you've never tried before. Look into prenatal vitamins and start taking them daily. I take the One A Day Prenatal. Look into these things for yourself though! Learn, learn, learn as much as you can about this process. From conception to birth and newborns and more! Good luck! This is an exciting time and a true blessing 🙏

Wait that’s so cute! What a special moment you’ll have with your mom! 🥰 ^great advice above! I would also warn you not to consume chamomile tea. My OB with my first pregnancy told me to stop drinking it, and I haven’t touched it since. I think watching your sugar intake is important as well! Totally give in to some of your cravings but be cautious :) The GD test we’ll eventually do is not fun, and I had to take two of them last time 😭 I originally used rainbow light green prenatals but they were SO hard for me to stomach… I switched to nature made gummies and it was much easier! A popular prenatal is: Ritual but I have not tried them.

@Libby omg I didn’t know that this is my second and I’m sleeping on my stomach at 7 weeks

@Tasneem yeah I went to the ER Easter Sunday and asked them while I was there and they said no it’s not recommended at all! This is also my second and I had no clue of it lol

@Celina makes sense to me lol I’m just saying what I was told thank you for the information! 🩷❤️

Of course search it for yourselves too! But I'm not convinced that's much of an issue. At a certain point in pregnancy, you can't. I personally have a body pillow on one side that I prop myself up on a little bit so that I'm not fully sleeping on my belly but it feels like it and it's still comfortable

@Libby totally valid. Especially if a doctor told you. I've just had experiences where doctors have said things that were not actually in my best interest. I mean if you decide to not sleep on your belly, then that's totally fine! I just hesitate on decisions that take away the few comforting sleep positions available early on! I mean it's rough enough growing a human, a blessing for sure but can be...uncomfortable to say the least. Love to you all ❤️

@Libby oh my gosh! Yes that's great. I always need a pillow between my legs for sleep after my first pregnancy. My pelvis never recovered lol

@Libby thank you ! 🥰 what brand of prenatal vitamins do you recommend?

@Celina thank you so much! It honestly took me some time to reply but I read ur comment and today I was listening to prodcast of doctors explained everything and now I’m a little bit less lost haha. Thank you!

@Angel thank you so much for the recommendations !
