Anyone here has had the new Low-Dose Epidoral with the PCEA machine (Patient Controlled Epidoral)?

For those replying yes can you tell me your experience please 🙏🏼

I had no idea it was low dose! They did the epidural and gave me a button and said to hit it when I needed more but it wouldn’t let me press it too many times I don’t think I ended up needing to press it x

How was your pain experience with it? And did your contractions slow down or was everything ok? Could you feel your contractions with this epidoral in? @Victoria

I had a great experience with it. It took the edge off of the pain of contractions enough that I was able to rest. I was able to move and get into different positions in the bed. I could pee without a catheter. I could feel when it was time to push and push effectively. My contractions never slowed down. I didn't like the idea of being totally numb and not in control, if that makes sense. So a low dose epidural felt like the best of both worlds; pain relief, but not as many restrictions as a classic epidural

Idk if it was that but I could control it (to a point obv) and it was good I got it whenever I felt it coming on again

My contractions didn’t slow, I couldn’t really feel much tbh until the very end the physical sensation of baby coming out not the pain at all

I had it, and it was good as could still move about, I still felt pain, but nowhere near as bad as without it. I could have asked for more if I wanted to. It did slow my contractions and I had to go on the hormone drip

@Raqi I had it too - I wanted to labour in a water bath but my baby ended up being premature and the labour became too high risk so they wanted me monitored the whole time. So I couldn't get in the tub, and I couldn't move easily or the monitors would slip off. Ended up getting the epidural mainly just to get some rest cuz I was so exhausted. I too was given a button to push for more, and it gave me a level of control I really appreciated. I ended up easing off it while I was pushing so I could feel the contractions and everything better, but because baby wasn't coming down fast enough I needed a forceps delivery and I asked them to up the dosage for that. All in all, I'm sad I didn't get to try the water birth but I'm much happier with the low dose epidural than I think I would have been with the traditional one 😊

Didn’t feel a thing Everything was fine Contractions felt like painless vibrations I only had epidural for the last hour (super long labour then the induction started and I birthed super quick) I’d 100% have it again It was painless Like obvs you’re aware of what’s going on but it feels more like Pressure I still could move all my limbs etc I just couldn’t feel pain x

Thank you guys!
