You can change obs for a second opinion but it’s actually pretty common and your placenta can move over time which is why they will do another ultrasound at 32 weeks to see if you will need to have a c-section or not. Because if it doesn’t move they will do a c-section since it’s the safety option. I don’t have it but my placenta is in the front and some is attached to scar tissue which is causing me spotting. I was told not to left anything more than my oldest ( he’s 40lbs) and to rest and take it easy for the most part. No long walks, don’t be on my feet for long periods of time, and to not over do it. If the spotting was to get worse like i have to put a pad on because it’s getting heavy i need to call them to come get checked, and no sex.
@Esther my fear is no other OB will take me in at 24 weeks? I’m so scared though. I have spotting and my doctor is just ignoring it - telling me to drink more water. I’ve had 3 prior losses
That’s not true! I just changed my OBGYN last week but within the same practice for almost the same reason. Not being able to catch something that could have been detrimental to my health. You don’t want a careless person as your OBGYN. You want someone you can trust because your life and your child’s life is in their care.
I have previa and my MFM diagnosed me at 20 weeks. I had a 23 week scan and am going back again at 27 weeks. Mine hasn’t really moved but I haven’t had any bleeding or pain. She still wants to see me every 4 weeks to monitor and said no heavy lifting, no deep stretching and no sitting on a yoga ball for work. Nothing that will create more pressure on my cervix. My OB told me no sex and if I had ANY bleeding to go to L&D. If you’re uncomfortable change your dr. You have to advocate for yourself because nobody else knows your body like you. You can also request a referral for an MFM if you don’t want to change OBs.
If I were you I will change OBGYN asap! No I won’t have a careless doctor or careless team on my case. This is my life, this is my child’s life. There’s no room for recklessness not even the thinnest bit!!!!!
