First baby scan

Does anyone know if you can take your toddler with you to your baby scans/appointments? My appointment will be in a hospital

The NHS prefer to not have children attend the scans, it usually says it in the letter. And they have signs up at the hospital. However I was there last week and there was a lady with two small children who went in with her. If you don’t have childcare you have no other option. I guess it’s just because the sonographer is concentrating, the first scan is a lot quicker than the second scan anyway so I wouldn’t worry if you can’t get childcare. Hope that helps x

Most hospitals say no and specify it on the letter. I do believe in special circumstances allowances can be made but I feel it’s really individual and dependent on who is making the decision. I’d call up and explain the situation so you’re not turned away if you do turn up with little one. It’s the most frustrating thing - I had to cancel a scan just this week as my childcare fell through.

I have taken my toddler, when I was pregnant with my daughter, they didn't have any issues - worst case me and my partner agreed if need be he would sit outside with our son as at the time he was astonished at our first scan with our son lool.... I remember he was like . " wow he has legs " loool i was like well I'm 12wks and he's growing so yes he has legs lol lol 😆 You know what men are like when they've seen something once they've seen it a million times 😆😆- That being said on all occasions the sonographer was fine about it just ask before your called in x

The hospitals say no but for some parents (like me) a babysitter might not be an option i brought my son with me hes 6 but i saw a lot of babies and toddlers going with their mummys too i wouldnt stress too much x
