Growth Scan

Had mine 2 days ago Less than 5 minutes and i’ll say depends on how many weeks pregnant you are Had mine at 30 weeks with an empty bladder and it was fine

Iv had 2 already got my 3rd growth scan on wedensday They do measurements of the head , and tummy and leg length and that's usually it They'll tell you what weight and what week baby's measuring at lasts from 2-10mins depending Mine are quite long becuase this baby yet again is off the charts in weight and weeks Mine at 29wks measured 5lb and 36wks along and that was 2 weeks ago

I'm 27 weeks, I had mine a few days ago. It was super quick, they tell you the weight of the baby, the percentiles of the stomach, head etc and then show these stats on a graph specific for your baby and whether these measurements are to be expected for their specific measurements, as well as the average measurements

Growth scan is the same as the 20 week scan and takes about the same amount of time. Expect 10-30mins. If the baby is moving around a lot it may take on the longer side. Your bladder should be empty. They will measure a bunch of stuff - head, legs, belly etc. They will also check the baby’s heart rate and how the placenta is doing. All the data is put into the computer and you will be given a percentile estimate for your baby’s growth straight away. Generally speaking top 10% and bottom 10% are of most concern. In that case you will probably continue to have further growth scans. It’s normal that the scan is carried out by a dr or you will have a dr appnt straight afterwards to discuss the results.

Yes They told me he is around 1.4kg but is not 100%true

Keep in mind that even if the scan does show your baby being top or bottom percentile for growth it does not always mean there’s anything wrong with your baby’s health. Some people will always be bigger or smaller than average. Try to take it one scan at a time. Good luck!

I have them fortnightly because of my history. It’s usually ten minutes with an empty bladder, but they also ask for a urine sample, so I don’t go to the bathroom until they sort that.

Okay well everyone’s saying it’s quick but I was there 1.5 hours 😂 I met with the consultant after so it was a long day, I guess it depends if you’re due to see anyone after

Oh my gosh guys I was there for 5 hours😂😂 thank you to everyone that commented! They wanted to also monitor due to movements but gosh I don’t want to go back till I’m in labour as was in there till 12:30am as well this morning 🤦🏽‍♀️😂
