Appointment

I spoke to my doctor yesterday on the phone and told her I tested positive on Monday and what do I do next, do I come in for a blood test? And she said no, refer yourself to maternity something with the midwives. I’ve done it I think and it says we’ll make contact is 4 working weeks! That’s ages away!? I thought it needed to be confirmed with a blood test, an initial consultation and then onto midwives for pregnancy care? People on here have talked about early scans. I feel so in the dark? Like what do I do now? I’m taking the vitamins suggested. Still no period, little cramps which feels like it’s getting comfy in there, boobs are still sore so everything must be good?

My GP said the same “urine test is enough evidence no need for bloods”. Decide on a hospital and register to their antenatal service. The wait is daunting for all of us🥲

It honestly depends on the hospital/trust you are in but yeah the first trimester can feel extremely daunting and lonely! Where I am they just say congratulations, self refer at 8 weeks and no earlier! Ppl talking about early scans either are paying for them themselves or have gone up because of an issue! Use this app because it was what got me through last time! Xx

You can book an early scan privately, I use meet your miracle. But it depends what’s near you. Unfortunately it’s very normal to kinda just be left alone until about 10 weeks for a booking appointment then between 11-14 weeks for the 12 week scan. Then you get a scan around 20 weeks and that’s it if you’re not high risk. You don’t get much! Xx

Okay thank you :) x
