When I’ve had private scans we’ve filmed on our phones but not been able to when it’s NHS
At private scans of u pay they send u video of ur scan and all the pictures but the nhs is strictly no pictures or videos only the ones u are given unfortunately, if u sneak a picture try but I would say u do it but ur partner or the person that comes in with u as their more hidden away from the sonographer / consultant x
@Rosheen this is so hospital specific I always ask to take pictures and videos at the nhs and they are super nice about it always say of course
That's really good that when you go private u can take videos. I think it's ridiculous with the NHS honestly. It's my baby I should be able to take videos or request a video of the scan
NHS scans are for medical assessment only might be blessed with a really nice sonographer that will allow it but 9/10 they are in a foul mood from my experience lmao, private scans are more for enjoyment, more chilled environment and can request videos be sent to you at a cost so thats always nice
@Kate every hospital I’ve had scans at in all 5 of my pregnancies have said no pictures/video only ones I’m given and I had scans at 5 different hospitals I’ve asked too when my first was born during Covid and i asked to video for my partner as he couldn’t come in and I got a stern no
@J they really are in a foul mood 😪 I need to try a private scan
@Rosheen I’m sorry you had this experience I go to UCLH, and had the most amazing experience, every midwife is so lovely and always prints 5+ photos and lets me do videos and photos in my phone, there are also women coming with kids all the time and they get to see the scan as long as they are quiet. That’s why I was saying it’s very hospital specific. Since this is a university hospital I think they have to be a bit nicer as well.
@Kate I went to UCLH in my last pregnancy and couldn’t film or take extra pictures but it was a fetal medicine scan not the normal scan place so probably different rules
I just record on my phone every time I’m there
