Growth scan

I am 38+5 and went in today for a growth scan, as baby was plotting small. We last had a growth scan on 22nd and were told she was 5lb 14 today been told she is 6lb 10 and that they need to speak with midwives. We were sat listening to them All debating whether or not to induce me. We heard the whole debate as they weren’t quiet at all! I’m now really worried and have been sent home And told To Expect a call from A dr. Not really sure how to take it all. Been advised to monitor movements and call MAU for anything worrying. I have already started to experience some early signs of labour.

I was induced due to reduced movement rather than small size but my girl was born at 40 weeks at only 6lb 12oz and was perfectly healthy, my induction process was really nice and I had also shown signs of early labour (went in at 1cm dilated with a soft cervix), I wonder why they are pushing you towards it however if they are already measuring around 6lb 10oz at 38+5?

Thankyou for this. I think they’re more concerned that she hasn’t grown much since the last scan, rather than her current weight, if that makes sense? The early signs of labour I’ve had are loose bowls and some Sporadic contractions last night and through today. I didn’t sleep great last night so feel really rubbish today. I haven’t had a bloody show or anything so am not convinced anything will be happening 🥴

How strange my baby grew about a pound in two weeks and they were perfectly happy with this growth? I always thought half a pound a week was the normal rate. Have you seen your growth chart and does it follow the curve?

Definitely not an expert but I would say the 35 week scan is the anomaly as the others follow the same curve. (That’s what they have said to me on mine which as one scan measuring 55 percentile and the rest 40) Hopefully the consultant can shed some light and give you peace of mind x
