Bumps

Getting anxious everyone is telling me about how big I am and god knows how I will survive another 12 weeks when my bump is already so big 😩 I am measuring the same as I did with my first born at 36 weeks I’m currently 28…. Does big bump mean big baby? I haven’t had any form of measurement yet so no idea what percentile he is on! Have my first growth scan 2nd June !

It’s honestly hard to tell from bump size, as so much beyond baby size impacts your bump size - how your muscles sit, your torso length, how much am fluid, multiple pregnancies etc. This is why they only do sizing scans if there is risk for a very small or large baby. I’m currently carrying small - my bump looks about two months behind my dates but am according to my sizing scan carrying a 70% baby! My first was concerningly small so I am rather surprised! 😅 I hope your sizing scan goes well!

We all carry our bumps differently. I've been told mine looks big, but think it doesn't help Im only 5'2". And as said before, its not all baby, its fluid and water retention. Also, Ive heard the bump is bigger with a second pregnancy. It could be just that. Hope sizing scan goes well

Totally feeling you! Yesterday I got asked TWICE if I was having twins 😳 Growth scan last week shows baby as average size but I keep reminding myself this is baby 6 for me so my body has done this plenty of times before to grow/stretch more easily (if that makes sense) For me it feels bigger as I'm 3 stone lighter this pregnancy compared to previous so it's literally all bump and not hidden by flab 😂 Like the others have said everyone carries differently, also having an anterior placenta can make bump appear bigger as does extra fluid water retention etc so don't worry and embrace it 🩶

It’s different for everyone .. I keep being told I look huge and but when the midwife measured my bump it came up on the 3rd centile so I was sent for a growth scan and the baby is actually on the 52nd centile so 💁🏼‍♀️ hope all goes well with the scan 🤞🏼

I have the same thing at the moment, I’m 29 weeks tomorrow and I think it’s the first time I’ll have my bump measured. I’m a lot bigger than last time and people keep thinking I’m ready to pop. But they measure the fundal height and maybe that’s not that high. My bump might be half fluid/fat for all I know.

People are telling me I look ready to give birth, it’s my first pregnancy at 45 and I’m 32 weeks. My last growth scan was normal, next one on Thursday so I’m curious to see what they say. No gestational diabetes or any concerns. I dread to think of 8 more weeks getting bigger, sleeping is so difficult already. I do wonder if we are all eating food that has more additives or chemicals perhaps? Or just better diets hence babies are growing well?
