I did exactly this with my last job - handed in my notice 12 weeks before the end of my maternity, got a payslip of my accrued leave and didn’t need to pay anything back maternity leave wise as it was NHS to NHS, my old work place just needed a copy of my new contract for proof x
@Katy Thankyou so much! That has put my mind at ease, I didn’t want to waste all the annual leave I accrued as I also carried some over aswell.
@Katy I am also assuming you still got paid your maternity leave during your “notice period”, i don’t think they can stop paying you right?
As long you don’t have a break in service you should be fine. Use your annual leave for notice period if you need to depending on your start date
@Mollie if I can remember rightly it was part maternity leave and part annual leave at the end when I handed my notice in and all was paid as normal x
No not as long as its still part of the nhs which i assume it is. The nhs is ultimately you're employer so the annual leave, sickness, maternity etc will all roll over to the new trust so won't have to pay anything back/ loose annual leave x
