I would have thought so as nothing else has happened that i know of, and im not sure if i would have noticed this morning as i was in a rush but i dont think it was showing then, i thought bruised can take a while to come out x
He could have fallen at nursery and they didn't realise how hard or that he'd hit it or didn't see and didn't know why he was upset. If you thought you took the fall, he was fine after and there wasn't obvious bruising it could be something else. My baby fell off the bed last week as I was sitting down with her for her bedtime feed and she threw herself off of me and landed on her forehead. She was utterly inconsolable for a solid time after, it was clear it was a pain cry not a scared from the fall cry. The second we were out in daylight the next morning the bruise was really obvious and I don't think you'd be able to miss it even in a rush, if it's that bad of a bruise they normally at least start to show signs pretty quick.
I’ve been in a rush plenty of mornings but have never missed a bruise on my child as you notice it straight away. Maybe ask the nursery if he had a fall as sometimes they don’t look like a bad fall or bump but end up coming out in a bruise or mark. And like you said you took the fall so I wouldn’t have thought he would’ve had a bruise, especially on his face x
I called the maternal health line once she was quiet and was toldnjust monito her. But when she had a nose bleed later and with the bruising I was advisedt to go too urgent care to be checked over and was redirected to ED because of slight swelling. She was absolutely fine and the doctor's laughed at how high spirits she was in. It was like my crazy little 8 monther got hyper the second she was due to be seen. Meanwhile I sobbed almost every time I had to explain it feeling like the worst mum ever and feeling like I was going to get reported for neglect for letting her fall or something. What actually happened? 2 different women in ED told me stories of their kids falling from the bed or high chair, so did a nurse, my mum told me mu brother once slipped past the baby gate and bounced down every step in the house, my best friend told me about her little brothers fall from sitting on a bench top as a baby.
Everyone i spoke to that had kids pretty much had had this happen at some point. And of course we all need to take precautions and do what we can to prevent it but it happens and even the hospital paediatrician said to me they're sturdier than they look most of the time. Give yourself some grace, you didn't do it on purpose and even with a little bruising it sounds like he's okay because surely if he wasn't being himself nursery would have said something or you'd have noticed in the time since he was home. If you're concerned getting him checked out would be worth it but otherwise I was told look out for swelling, vomiting, being more tired than usual or drowsiness I'm here if you need to talk x
Thank you all for making me feel a little better and im not alone! @Nicole i got him out of his cot as he was unsettled i stepped back onto an heater (it wasnt on) then i twisted and fell onto my knees ontop of it and forward into an open suitcase (only has clothes shoes etc. in it), it sounds so ridiculous i couldn’t make it up! He hasn’t been sick, slept anymore than usual or any swelling but im going to get him checked in the morning when i can see his face in the light properly if it looks worse. And im going to speak to his nursery to see if anything happened to rule it out x
Are you sure that’s from the fall with you? You would’ve noticed the bruise this morning while getting him ready for nursery as bruises take a couple of minutes to a few hours to appear x
