I don’t think it’s anything to worry about personally but I’m no expert if you are worried could speak to HV? Our girl likes to put things in and out of boxes, nursery told us about things called schemas which is their way or learning. Found it really interesting - worth a read up x
My 18 month son loves light switches , doors and the buttons on the dishwasher, washing machine etc , we turn it in to speech learning and following requests on/off open/closed etc.
Washing machine, dishwasher, kitchen cupboards, light switches, window handles.... anything that he can get his mits on he loves 🤣 they see you touch these things all the time and just want to copy their mama!
My toddler did it. He grew out of it
My son does the same. It's a normal thing for tots to do. I've bought some foam protectors for the door to protect him from closing the doors on his fingers.
Thanks all!! It has put my mind at ease. I was a bit worried as opening and closing doors repeatedly seems to be his favourite thing. Especially since he has started reaching the handles on his own.
Yes my son does this too. I actually noted today when we got from nursery at 1oclock that he hadn’t touched any of his toys. At the minute he’s obsessed with putting things in the washing machine and shutting it and then taking it back out.
