So weird. Honestly felt like I’m going mad! I had the name of what I needed on a post it note in my doctors handwriting and took it to the chemist in the village that’s opposite the surgery. My partner was with me at the time so they won’t let him do it. Might just have to wait until he’s off work at the weekend and try another pharmacy
I had this with aspirin. My midwife asked my GP to prescribe it but they were taking too long. I went to the pharmacy and as soon as they knew I was pregnant they wouldn’t give it to me even though I needed it because I was pregnant! I phoned GP surgery who said there was a backlog of requests and suggested it was so cheap I should just buy it! I had to explain it wasn’t the cost but the pharmacy not selling it to me that was the issue 🙄 In the end my husband got it
Yes this happens and pharmacies aren’t licensed to sell it for pregnancy, however just go to another pharmacy and tell them it’s for a patch of eczema for your partner and that they’ve used it before whenever it flares up. Then you can buy it ;)
Get a partner/friend to go and get it over the counter. It’s stupid and annoying but sometimes you run into these things. With my first child I went to get a bottle of calpol ready for his jabs at 8 weeks. I asked a question and then they learned he was 7 weeks they refused to sell it to me, even though I’d explicitly said I wasn’t using it until 8 weeks jabs (as recommended) and it was an over the counter medicine. So I went to boots and just didn’t say anything and bought the damn bottle. Pharmacies can be weird sometimes.
