I’m off to Tenerife end of month too! I’ve ordered a little busy book for little one to play with and some teething toys. I’m planning to order nappies and milk to the airport after security so it doesn’t touch my luggage allowance xx
@Aimee does that have to fit into your hand luggage?
@Cheryl not as far as I know because technically you’re “buying” it duty free, so the same way you’d carry any shopping into the plane x
We’re driving home from the airport as I type this. We’ve been to Turkey for a week. Must haves - carrier, take aprons/bibs/spoons from home, lots of entertainment for the plane, snooze shade, pram fan and pram rocker for pram naps. Not sure if your baby is a good sleeper or not but try to replicate home as much as possible. Our daughter’s sleeps is awful and that was the hardest thing and we ended up holding her most of the night. and lastly, go with no expectations and go with the flow. It will not be like holidays you have had before, but it’s still lovely all the same
we just got back from a holiday to Madeira with our September baby and a 4 year old. she stayed in the car seat pushchair until the plane and then i carried her on but afterwards you have to go through security etc before luggage so the baby wrap sling was so helpful to carry her about if you aren't taking the car seat on board. we just packed snacks for her and she had a nap for half the journey on the way there and was snacking and playing with a couple teething toys and her brother. on the way back we were very lucky and she had boob straight away after take off and slept until 15 minutes before landing! it is hit and miss with the planes but when we took her brother as a baby we just made sure he had pouches to suck on for take off to help with the ears popping they helped. with nappies i took a whole pack because i knew they're much more expensive there and we had the space in the suitcase. we came back with 2 left so it was perfect for us but depends if you have space or would rather buy out there x
