Why not do wrap around care? It’s what we’ll have to do.

Lunch cover in nurseries, cleaning jobs where you set your own hours, some part time jobs that start at 8am and finish by 1.

I just got a job photographing newborns in hospital 9-2 but that’s after months of looking for suitable hours for me to get my girl to and from nursery. They’re hard to find tbh! Maid cleaning hotel rooms is a good one as it’s also 9-2

I don’t know much about your children’s age but if they are over the age of six and you have a Boys And Girls Club around you for the entire school year it’s like $25 and I believe they’re open until 8 PM. Most of these clubs do have a bus that shuttles the kids from school to the club after school.

What are you skills? A lot of roles in the charity sector are open to flexible working. I work for a non-profit and school runs/nursery pickups are a non issue. There are a few working parents and we block time out in our diaries so no meetings get put in, then make up the time elsewhere (or some people are part-time, it’s up to the person.)

I work in a care home three days a week, 8:30 till 2:30, I’m the only one who can do the school drop offs and pick ups as well. They’re pretty flexible though, some days I don’t get to work till 8:45 but as long as I stay on to make sure I do a 6 hour shift they’re totally fine with it. However school holidays are a pain, as I have to rely on a friend who’s work will swap shifts so we have each others children.
