Baby nests waste of money?

My friend has a baby nest, and she does use it. But my question is, are they worth it? I wanted one that would fit in the pram maybe or something that would make baby feel secure in pram, but also one that would grow with the baby and can have naps around the house in, if that means buying two that's fine. It's just where do you start 🙈

I barely used mine first time round tbh as we found our Moses basket more practical as you can carry it round without disturbing baby, the only time I really used it was in the bathroom to lay him down whilst I got ready etc, but you can always buy second hand so it won’t feel like you’ve wasted a lot of money if it doesn’t get used much x

I bought molis and co one for about £30

I wouldn't buy one. They're not recommended by the NHS for sleep. We've bought a moses basket for around the house.

I wouldn't leave the baby unattended for sleep in one, I should have said x

We never used one with our first, they’re not recommended. They’re a suffocation hazard as are cot bumpers! Moses basket for naps around the house and you don’t need to add anything to the pram x

We never had a Moses basket because my first born was a chunk and would have outgrown very quickly. We loved our baby nest. I only ever used it for naps in the living room when I was awake sitting next to her or she’d lay in it when I was doing jobs like folding washing, hoovering, cooking etc and couldn’t hold her. Also super helpful when we had our second and I couldn’t hold him all the time with my toddler around. As long as your supervising them when their in it I think their great x

You can pick them up for cheap. They're not recommended and linked to SIDS. So not worth it in that sense

I just purchased the sleep carrier by Najell. It’s sleep approved and fits in the pram but then can easily be taken out if baby is sleeping and/or to be used around the house. It also doubles as a play mat which is nice. https://najell.com/en-gb/p/najell-babynest-sleepcarrier-x-oat-beige

We never used ours and it apparently can play a big part in SIDS. Mil gifted it to us an it’s still in its pack.

I got one for my daughter coming on 2nd June from a free site on Facebook. I don't see the harm in using one as long as your there with them and can keep an eye on them. I understand what your saying about the buggy because they seem so tiny in a buggy at first and you just want them to feel safe and secure but I probably wouldn't put one in there. You can buy ones specifically for a buggy though. I didn't use one with my son but now he's seen his sisters one I'm not entirely sure she's going to get to use it because he absoloutly loves laying on it to watch TV.

Happy to post mine to you if you’d like x

I used one for my daughter but only if I was in the same room or she was at her grandparents she loved it but grew out of it fast I wouldn't let her sleep in it overnight.

Not worth it. X
