Abroad help…

Hello! We are going to Portugal and little one will be 11 months. I’m abit stressed about going as we need to take a travel cot, stroller / pram & car seat. Did anyone buy a car seat for holiday that’s easy to carry etc? We currently have the Maxi Cosi FamilyFix 360 but I don’t really want to carry that round everywhere as it’s massive lol. I know loads of people just put babes on their lap but I feel abit meh about it! Thanks

What part of Portugal will you be staying? Have you rented a car ?

@Abi it’s a private family friends villa but it’s not got a travel cot or anything there for me to use! We have our own car there - not a rented one!

I’m not 100% but I think if in a privately owned car it’s law for the kids to be in a seat. We’ve only ever travelled with pre booked taxi to and from airport and the seat was supplied. In and around golf resorts we have baby on lap in Uber but not the case for you it sounds. There is a small travel car seat if your babe meets the weight requirements- maxi cosy nomad. It folds a little too. Travel cot is a must right? Marble floors and moving toddler isn’t the most ideal. I asked where you were in Portugal as there are baby equipment rental services for you. Feel free to reach out DM wise for any extra info. We love Portugal for our family holidays !

@Abi oh really?! I’ll defo put him in a car seat. I actually did just look at the Maxi Cosi Nomad so I’ll go for that one. Thanks lovely. We will get a taxi to and from the airport but whilst we are there, we are using our friends car who owns the villa. Yes, I don’t fancy co-sleeping whilst we are there haha. Thanks! We fly into FARO so it’s about 15/20 mins from there I think? Thanks for the above!!

Have a great time ! Also supermarkets there are so good… we usually buy most baby bits there when we arrive. Uber eats work really well for some baby grocery shopping last minute!
