Mine jumped from 55th to 95th percentile and has maintained that size since Latest scan was 36+3 and estimated weight is 6lb 7oz They've not shown any concern though, just had the diabetes test and scans to keep an eye - they said as long as he maintains and doesn't drop /gain too much then all is okay
In the same position. Growth scan at 35+3 showed baby had a big tummy which changed the estimated weight to be 6lb11. She was the 90th percentile which they said didn't officially count as 'big' which has to be 95th and above so they didn't seem worried. I have another scan at 39+3 and I'm worried that if she's continued to grow at the same rate they will suggest early induction. As you say, scans can be very inaccurate so I don't really want to go through all that if she's not actually that big!
My last baby was 97th percentile and 9lb 5oz. I tried a natural birth but after 49 hrs of labour he got stuck and he had shoulder distosia and needed emergency assistance as his heart rate was dropping ( but didn’t end in c section). This time I am having a c section at 38 weeks to avoid similar complications and I have a growth scan on Thursday but my bump is huuugge.
Got told my baby was big and they were 9.11lb 🙈 second pregnancy and this baby is measuring smaller but im so scared they are going to be big and got it wrong ha!
I have a scan at 39 weeks because baby’s tummy was measuring >95percentile in my last scan 36 weeks. They couldn’t do the scan at 38 weeks because that lands on bank holiday Monday, so instead of doing it next day I’m waiting a week later, 2nd June! Because of baby having a big tummy I ended up doing that glucose diabetes test yesterday, I’m still waiting for results. I’m hoping it was just an overestimate with how baby is laying, I have a friend who is a sonographer and she said that it can be common to overestimate baby’s tummy at this stage, especially due to how they can be laying (e.g if we were curled up tighter then our belly’s would measure bigger than if we were straightened out a little) xx
