I accidentally hurt my baby

I put my almost 1 yr old little girl in the backseat so I can turn on the car. We just finished visiting a daycare and wanted to park so I can give her some snacks before heading to the mall. When I opened the backseat door so I can sit with her, i didn’t notice that she was leaning on the door…so she fell when i opened the door. She now has a scratch on her head. No bumps but it looks like it’s going to bruise. I feel bad. I can’t get the image of her falling off my mind. Ugh! I feel like a careless mom!

Ice it asap! I’m sorry sweetheart the mom guilt when our kiddos get hurt is bad! But on the plus side the human body is designed to heal itself and be resilient 💜

I smashed my 18 months fingers in the door while running around to sit with him once. Traumatic but was totally okay. Another time he was running into traffic and I grabbed his arm but he slipped out and smashed his face on the pavement. It happens ❤️

@Mariah just make sure you wrap it as kids skin can be a lot more sensitive if it’s ice

accidents happens i put my 18m old daughter down to open the door the other day holding it so it wouldn’t fully extend and hit her when the wind gusted it out of my hand lucky it didn’t hit her face but it did knock her down on her butt and i had a very unhappy girl but truly if it was an accident there’s no reason to feel bad but you feeling bad just means you love your baby and you learnt from it and will check next time

Accidents happen. I smooshed our son's finger in a door hinge side once and now he points to it and knows it's an "owie" spot and not to touch it 😅
