How do you survive on SMP?

So it's 90% of your average weekly wage for the first 6 weeks, this will be around £350 for me and then £184.03 a week for the next 33 weeks?! How are we surviving on £797 a month? Does anyone have any experience with working from home with a 12 month old? I have an office job, where I can work from home a few days a week. Is it possible and does anyone have any advice? I don’t want to put my baby in daycare, would love to make it work if possible.
