You probably snack bc it’s easy and fast! Meal prep stuff that’s easy to make quickly in bulk. Make sure it’s stuff you actually like so you’re not miserable while you’re eating. Add enough protein so you stay full. Depending on your definition of snack, if it’s truly junky just get rid of it and don’t buy anymore. You can’t eat what you don’t buy. For snacks get healthier options like nuts, cheese sticks, chopped veggies and hummus….stuff like that that you can add into your day. Start with one thing at a time bc if you try to change too much, you’ll quit. Make up your mind that this is a lifestyle change and you’re in it for the long haul, not just 30 days or something. As far as accountability, get clear on WHY you’re doing it in the first place and let that motivate you
Are you breastfeeding? I used to drink mate in the morning which has a little bit of caffeine in it. But it helped me get back to my initial weight
You can definitely snack if you prefer over whole meals. Just opt for healthier snacks and do volume eating. Like lower calorie items that you can eat more of. For myself, I try to start my mornings with two boiled eggs and one slice of toast. Then maybe an hour later a packet of Kodiak protein instant oatmeal, a smaller lunch like a sandwich or smaller portions of rice beans and a protein (8im dominican) then I’ll have some crackers and carrots/celery with cheese and hummus. Some grapes or an orange, and sweet potato, shrimp and broccoli or asparagus for dinner. I’m exclusively breast feeding, so I’m hungry a LOT! But also I have my lactation bites throughout the day, some natures bakery mini fig bars, and whole wheat peanut butter sandwich crackers. A lot of water (dehydration can feel like hunger), and my daily coffee and tea in the evening. Im 2 weeks postpartum, but I maintained my postpartum weight of 198 from my first pregnancy for 6 years, fluctuating maybe +/- 5 lbs.
