Hey mamas can you share your favorite high protein low carb no sugar added and no sugar substitute snacks?

I have to confirm my A1C but my blood sugars indicate that I’m no longer diabetic but pre-diabetic…I’m looking to completely reverse diabetes type 2 and lose 80lbs…I realize I need more snacks because at times I don’t have dinner or a meal…rn I skip breakfast most days of the week. What snacks have helped you lose weight and get healthier? Update: my blood sugar spiked tonight for the first time in 3 weeks so I just took my injection…it was so good for 3 weeks I didn’t have to take any medicine but it’s my fault eating food with sugar and also had noodles tonight…thank you for your suggestions ladies…I will keep striving

I had dried fruit like cashews and pistachio mostly idk if these counts?

@Anza yes thanks mama that’s great was thinking about dried fruit also…I had some praline pecans yesterday and I realized it was too much sugar

Try making granola bars or balls at home with oats and you make make your own healthy caramel with dates. They are sweet and good for you.

I’m also a trainer who has an online coaching business so if you want more guidance let me know. I’d love to help

Chicken 😂

Straight to the point here… Dont skip breakfast (coffee doesnt count but try adding in half a scoop of collagen+protein powder in) Foods like greek yogurt, cottage cheese, beef jerky, protein bars, mixed nuts, rice cakes, peanut butter crackers, fresh or freeze dried fruits, are all going to help with feeling satiated and maintaining steady blood sugsr levels

Dried fruit will increase your blood sugar more than fruit will. It’s basically CANDY. Praline pecans are SUGAR coated pecans that have been roasted so more sugar. Anything with oats will increase your blood sugar, specially granola and oat milk. If you are really pre diabetic stay away from high sugar fruits like dates which is a dried fruit. So much confusing and misinformed advice in this thread. Don’t take supplements from Herbalife or the other juice mlm. Best comment is from Bailey. Don’t skip breakfast, eat small meals throughout the day. Animal protein, Greek yogurt, raw nuts always paired with some fiber ideally from veggies. Forget the idea of sweet snacks, does no good. Fat, protein and fiber. Cinnamon (Ceylon) tea with no sweetener of course will also help.

The OMAD diet worked really well for me.. it’s definitely not for everyone! But it helped keep me in a calorie deficit and the weight started dropping quick! But for snacks when I wasn’t doing OMAD I’d eat nuts of all kinds, pistachios were my favorite!! I’d also eat cheese and pepperoni, and lots of fruit.

I buy my husband who is diabetic sugar free snacks for him to eat and we only use Splenda in our house

@Virginia ok thank you mama

@Gen yes I was off medication for nearly 3 weeks because my blood sugars were great below 140 after eating but now my my blood sugar spiked again today so I took my injection but I have been eating sweets and carbs smh 🤦🏾‍♀️

@Gen yes thank you mama please share

@Celecia what else in on OMAD though? Is that low carb?

@Yasmina it’s really just one meal a day. I focused on high protein low carb so I ate a meat with a side of veggies and then a fruit.. definitely isn’t for everyone it’s like intermittent fasting so headaches are expected

@Gen there is plenty of information out there about the scam of herbalife, a documentary on Netflix, health studies talking about liver failure and really you could just read the label and ingredients and ask a nutritionist. Ingredients are GMO, some have corn by products, inflammatory oils. I’m glad some things have worked for you. really the big change you must have had is up your protein intake( you can do that without a pyramid scheme shake full of dubious ingredients. For anyone interested in getting more protein just buy the cleanest protein powder and make a smoothie out of it with low GI fruit and no sweetener. You can save a lot of money just quitting Herbalife and buying a nutrition course or consulting a holistic nutritionist.
