I had a planned section and was discharged by 4pm the next day. X
I was induced at 3pm, went in to labour at midnight, gave birth at 10pm and went home at 10am the next day with my first xx
I was in and out within 12 hours x
I had a c section with my first and they discharged me on day 2. My second was a forcep birth and they kept me in for 2 days mainly because I needed an iron infusion. Like you said it depends on a lot but I've also been on the ward and people have been discharged 12hours after birth x
The closer you get to Xmas, they will start hauling everybody out. Hospitals are notoriously understaffed at Xmas so they will want as minimum on the wards as possible. Besides, it’s very much situation dependant - no way of knowing how long they will keep you in as it can depend on how feeding is going, what kind of delivery you had, how yours and baby’s observations go, anything they want to monitor for a bit etc etc
My first I had him early morning and was home by tea time same day, my second had him in the morning and again was home by tea time, my third I had her at home, my 4th I had her in the evening and was home by lunch time next day. I’m hoping the same with this one
I had an emergency C-section 5 days ago and got discharged today as the baby got jaundice, so had to stay for 2-3 days.
My first baby was born at half 4 in the morning and I was home by 8pm the same night. As long as you and baby are okay, and they have seen them feed properly either breast or bottle then you’re usually good to go x
With my first I was in for 4 days… I just wanted to go home every time I asked to go they always changed the reason why they kept me in for. I really hope that’s not the same for my 2nd…
2 nights with my first
With my first I gave birth at 1.36am and was home for 10pm the same day xx
Think I was in 1 night with my first. Generally depends on a lot of things though - how you are, how baby is, feeding etc
it really depends, i had my baby at 1:35 in the morning and was discharged at 11am x
Just 1 night with my first and that wasn’t enforced it was optional but they suggested I took it. Not sure I would second time around. So hard to sleep on a ward.
I had strep b with my first baby and I was still out after around 16 hours (12 hours obs needed for baby when mum has strep b). I guess it depends what time of day you deliver but wouldn't expect it to be more than a night unless you or baby needs extra care or support x
