I haven’t heard this either - also hadn’t heard about slushies though? What’s the reasoning? xx
Nothing mentioned on the NHS website about either https://www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/keeping-well/foods-to-avoid/
The NHS doesn't advise against them, so I'd say go for it. Young kids can't have them, I know that much!
We arent allowed slushies? I didnt know this, howcome?
I had no idea about this and I had one last week and was fine!
I’m pretty sure the reason we can’t have slushies is the same reason we’re not meant to have McFlurrys- the machine isn’t cleaned well enough
@Danielle first time I’ve heard this too 🙃 I’ve had loads of mcflurries and milkshakes from mcDs!
@Amy I’ve avoided them so far but would love a McFlurry!
@Danielle did your midwife tell you to avoid them? just curious as this is literally the first I’ve heard of that and there’s nothing on the NHS guidelines!
@Amy yes it was from my midwife, there is an increased risk of listeria
I had hyperemesis and slushes/ice blasts were the only thing I could stomach for about 3 months 😂
@Danielle same reason we are advised not to do buffets too, bacteria. I'm sure a one off wouldn't be too bad
I’ve had 2/3 Tango Ice Blasts from the cinema. I think it’s due to the cleanliness of the machine but I felt more comfortable getting it from the cinema rather than a machine in a shop ha
I haven’t heard about this but I had one around 20 weeks and was fine ☺️
