How do we feel about Ivy?

Thoughts? Any bad associations I'm not thinking of?

We have an Ivy x

Love it

Thank you guys! It's been kind of in my head on my list of names for years but it's not the style of name my partner likes at all so I never bothered mentioning it. I figured there was no chance he wouldn't shoot it down so no point. Then all of a sudden he suggested it yesterday so I'm actually letting myself imagine it on baby if that makes sense

This was on my list and a strong contender but never choose it because an old flame used the name👀 If your partner has mentioned it I would take up the opportunity to really consider it. It’s a nice, unique, old fashioned-ish, classic name which is becoming popular. We ended up using the name Elsie 🥰and I wanted a ‘grannies’ name 🤣 We also have a boy called Lachlan and I’ve not heard or known anyone personally with either these names x

We have an Ivy and love it! Tend to call her by a nickname more than her actual name so she’s Ives, Vee, Vy, Ivy Alison (middle name) - so it’s versatile. Everyone we told the name to thought it was beautiful - we did hear some poison ivy jokes but not really. Some older relatives thought it was very old fashioned (I.e. their grandmother’s generation) but given it’s also a plant I think it’s not 100% old fashioned vibe.

What's your question? Yes/no to ivy, or yes/no to bad associations? 😄 Ivy's a nice name
