I don’t know who my midwife is

Hey guys I’m 28 weeks. Is it strange that I don’t know who my midwife is? Like everyone I’ve had an issue, someone would say call your midwife or ask your midwife .. but I’m thinking WHO THE HECK IS MY MIDWIFE LOL … I’ve also had just 2 appointments so far, apart from my gestational diabetes & blood test. Is that strange too ? Like who do I navigate this? Someone given me some knowledge pls 🥹🥹🥹

Are you in the uk? On your notes it should have a contact number for the midwife team. I think you should have had an appt at 8 weeks, 16 and 24 weeks, plus scan at 12 weeks and another scan at 20 weeks.

Who did you see for your 16W and 24W appointment? (Did you have those appointments? Which two appointments did you have?)

Just call the midwife team if you don’t have the direct number of your assigned midwife. They should have given you the number at your booking appointment

I don’t have direct contact with mine and we’ve never even met lol she’s never been available for any of my appointments

Agree with fay, if in the UK when you register your pregnancy you are normally then told to register with a hospital (or choose if you have a choice between them) and are put on their midwife team. You would've then had a booking appointment and several following (although maybe not as many as some if you're low risk- I've had LOADS because i've had extra scans and appt foe all my risk factors 😅😅)

I've not always seen the same person , as mine run a community model (I think most do) but always same 'team' unless it's at the hospital for consultant ones

If you go into badger notes > click on top left on the 3 lines to bring up the menu > about half way down is 'my care team' click on that. It'll take a while to load but will then show your consultant/midwife/care team (depending on your midwife teams structure) As above even though mine has a named midwife I will end up talking with anyone in the midwife care team if I contact them. Contact wise same menu but 'hospital contacts' will give you the relevant registered hospital contacts and may or may not give you contacts for your midwife team

I never met "my" midwife, I had a different one for every appointment

You might not have a midwife unless you are being caseloaded. You are likely to have a team and see midwives from that team - which could be someone else every time.

My trust has a midwife shortage so I never had the same one. Even when I swapped trust I never got the same one.

My dr office has us seeing multiple midwives, I’m not to sure of of my midwife is . Or my doula ! Have you called the office

Oh okay so I’m guessing it’s more of a team then. That makes sense

Thankyou everyone

I have an appointment tomorrow so I’ll get more clarity on this
