GDM gone?!

Maybe I sound stupid haha but it is possible as you progress in pregnancy you have better and better readings? I am on diet since 32 weeks when I found out and since then had 2 high fasting numbers and some high after lunch and dinner which after 2 h were sugar crash.. these days I ate whatever I wanted for Christmas first testing (large meals with potatoes, mayo etc) and all of my reading were in range , even lower each day ?! If before I ate 1 small potato my blood sugar increase to even 8.3 and now I eat a lot and is 6.0, 6.7 max?? I Also drank diet coke all day and nothing , still good .. I expected to explode after all these meals? Maybe my monitor is broken? 🤣🤣 is somebody feeling the same at this stage?

I get this sometimes and I find it a struggle to know what I can and can’t eat. I’ve yet to eat more as I’m still learning what I can and can’t eat but even having Christmas dinner I didn’t have a spike I was expecting… today though I ate lentils and had one of the biggest readings I’ve taken

Yes! This is happening to me. I’m 37 weeks and have no idea what’s going on. I keep doing extra tests as I don’t quite believe the results but they are right as my fasting levels have been consistent

They told me I had GD and I tested twice they were good results. Then I stoped testing for a while and they kept asking me why I never tested and that I had to do another blood test my results come out clear and that I did not have GD after that I did keep checking but the results were still very good maybe once or twice come out high but that’s it . I recon sometimes there results are not accurate xx

@Kathryn sorry to hear that, how many weeks are u? Maybe the hormones are at peak?

@Laura Yess, well I don’t have the courage to test chocolate yet 🫣 but I feel like a large carbs meal it doesn’t affect me as much as before 🤔

@Ipek yeah I only had 2 high fasting and 4-5 little above the range , but diet controlled and walk after each meal .. who knows

I’m only 29 weeks, nearly 30. But I think I’ll be told to go on metaformin. I want to wait another week though to try the diet as I’m really trying to work out my bodies goods and bads. I know I’m not good with carbs at all! Pretty much any carbs. I’m only okay so far with very small carb portions, way less than they recommend and the best so far that I can tolerate is quinoa

My tolerance changes daily! 32+5 and I could eat the same meal twice and they’d be within range or through the roof which makes it so hard 🤣 I’ve been quite lucky with majority of carbs throughout thankfully x

My readings are definitely lower! 37 weeks now. Just had our ‘go-to’ lunch… cheese and ham toastie and my reading was 5.3, a few weeks ago this would have been 7+. I can now eat some chocolate, a mince pie with cream etc and I’ve tested every 15 mins for 2 hours and no spike!
