Supposed to be christened themselves but I don’t know how strict they would be these days. There are alternative titles for non-christened people but basically exact the same responsibilities etx. Have you tried looking up your local ‘rules’?

Supposed to be christened but they just have to say they are - there's no way to check. I'm a godmother and I'm christened, my partner is a godfather and he isn't

Think the idea is that they r suppose to be christened but I also don't think there is an actual way for them to check can't imagine they have an online database with everyone's names in it. So if they ask they can just lie I guess?
