I’ve decided to do Homebirth and have had all my appointments with the same midwife and at my house except the ultrasounds
I never seen the same midwife twice in my first pregnancy and now in my second. it's annoying af as have to explain most stuff over and over again.
With my first, I never saw my named midwife and had a different one for each appointment. This time round I’ve seen my named one every time. Think it’s just luck of the draw to be honest!
1st pregnancy I had the same midwife. 2nd pregnancy, should have had the same midwife as my first, but she is on maternity leave herself. So I've had a covering midwife, and now I've got her cover midwife. Although annoying that you can't bond with one midwife, I would say it's nice to have a new set of eyes each time.
I have the same midwife as I did with my last pregnancy who I only saw wasn’t anyone else
I’ve had the same named midwife every appointment, was the same last time too
I've seen 3 different ones though my pregnancy even after being told I would have a certain midwife x
I’ve met mine once and I’m hoping to see her again this Friday but who knows if she will be there or if it will be someone else 🤷🏻♀️ I am 25 weeks and feel like I’ve been left to myself for the most part. My first ever appt was with a midwife helper/ assistant who I have met twice she did the blood tests and blood pressure checks. My actual named midwife I spoke to on the phone for booking appointment about medical history questions. Then my second in person appointment was with my named midwife so that was a nice comfort for me and I did ask her if I will have her for all my appointments and she said, ‘yes, you will always see me unless for some reason I am unavailable.’ I used to love watching the midwives come visit my older family members at our home but I guess things are tough now, short staffed etc.
I have a named midwife but have always seen someone different. It bothered me at first, but they have all made me feel comfortable and refer to my notes, so it doesn't bother me anymore
I see someone different every time - there’s no continuity of care at all
I’ve only seen different people. Asked at my 25 week appointment if/when will I meet them and was told they haven’t had an assigned midwife since September and hopefully she will start in February as she wanted Christmas and new years off. I don’t think it’s uncommon. It’s crap all the same!
