hi, im 37 weeks and have gestational diabetes. honestly it doesn't affect your baby as much as you think. i take my blood sugars 4x a day and the midwives can give you medication for it to bring your sugars down, its usually only temporary too. try not to worry! x

I was diagnosed about 3 weeks ago and it’s been horrendous. I took advice from so many people and groups on what to eat but I will have a meal one day and my numbers be low the next day I’ll have the same and they will be high.. positives though you’ll get scans so can see your baby more! Message me if you would like to talk 🩵

I was diagnosed with both my pregnancies around 9 weeks pregnant! And it’s super alright. Depending on how hard it hits you, you just need to watch your food here and there and then take medication if needed! I m on the high end and I take 2 types of insulin and metformin. Don’t worry too much please

@Ciara I have GD and these readings really are not high at all xx

They are not high at all! Omg I wish I had those readings!! They are absolutely perfect

@Ciara these readings don't look high at all. The green indicates that! That's really unfair on you that they've said your readings are too high. Try not to stress x

@Hester I was told I had GD this time around at 13 weeks, once you get used to what your body can and can't tolerate it's not as bad as you initially think. I can't eat carbs at lunchtime but am absolutely fine with them at breakfast and dinner x

@Jo the diabetic midwife called me and said that due to my red readings in the mornings they are considering starting me on Metformin. I honestly feel really deflated. I have quite a big sweet tooth and I haven’t touched anything sugary since I found out. I am now eating a low carb, high protein diet that is all low GI food. I was feeling really proud of myself until they called.
