Introducing Mum & Baby Pilates in Leslieville – Your Feedback Wanted!

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a bit about Pilates studio and café I’m opening in Leslieville. As a mum of two, I know how challenging it can be to find time to work out while caring for little ones. That’s why I’m planning to offer mum-and-baby classes to make it easier for mums to prioritize their health and well-being. I know there’s already Yoga Mamas in the area, but I’m thinking of offering a little more energetic workouts for those who want to “feel the burn” while staying close to their little ones. Here’s what I’m envisioning so far: • A soft play area just outside the Reformer room so mums can keep an eye on their little ones during their workout. • We’ll do our best to entertain the babies during the workout, but mums are always welcome to leave class if needed to tend to their baby. • A shortened Reformer Pilates class (40 minutes) for up to 8 participants to ensure little ones aren’t away from their mamas for too long. • Mat Pilates classes where mums can have their babies right next to them(but the focus here is on the mamas!) I would have loved a space like this when my kids were younger – a place where I could bring my baby, keep them close (even in a car seat next to my Reformer), feel like I’m doing something for myself and not feel judged if they got fussy. Honestly, I’d love something like this myself, but I’m afraid I might be missing some key points here! I don’t know!! There are just so many details involved in opening this business, and my mind is blowing! lol I’d love to hear your thoughts! Do these classes sound helpful? Are there any other features or ideas you’d love to see in a studio like this? I really appreciate any feedback or suggestions you have! Looking forward to hearing from you. Sending love to all! 💕

Yes! As a ftm I'd love this

@Theresa ❤️❤️ thank you for the feedback Theresa!! I will let you know when we start it!!

I would love to attend class where my baby could be on the mat beside me! Please let me know when they start

A class where the baby is a part of the workout (eg. Is the extra weight), not just on the side, to allow for more mom+baby bonding.

@Kaylee thank you for sharing your opinion ❤️ I’ll definitely keep you posted as we finalize the schedule for mum-and-baby mat classes. Creating a space where you can have your little one close by while focusing on your well-being is exactly what I hope to achieve!!

@Melody incorporating babies into the workout itself is such a creative and beautiful idea for bonding! I’ll explore how we can design a class that makes it fun and safe for both mums and babies to work together, maybe some gentle movements where they can serve as “weights” or interactive moments during the session… 😘😘😘

@Bela wonderful! I'm glad you like the idea. The mom+baby workouts I found all seem to be lacking this, or at least dont include it to the extent I would like. I was and am always wanting more different activities to do with my baby that will foster bonding.
