7 months is so early into the weaning journey, they’re learning a whole load of new skills at once! We started just after 6 months then stopped for a month or so as she got really poorly with an unrelated illness. Then we started again around 7.5 months and it started clicking. It takes time and patience, nothing pushed my buttons like weaning and now eating/not eating as a toddler! But they’ll get there :) we did a mix of both.
Mine is coming up 10 months and we still struggle to get him to eat much. I think some little ones just take longer to take an interest in food. Mine will take things out of my hand before I make it to my mouth but still won't eat it! I trust that he'll come around eventually. We just make an effort to give him lots of opportunities to eat, but never force it. Good luck! X
my daughter is 8 mo and she has eaten probably less than a half cup of food total since we started food at 6 months lol. our babes will get there, just be consistent and keep offering food and it'll be fine!
Persistence is key I've found! When we first started my girl barely ate any of it, most went on the floor. However, she's now 8 months and getting so much better, it's amazing to watch her eat now! 😍
We like to dip his favorite Teethers into the food, if it’s something that will stick to it, to get him interested. Hope that helps!
Will he put a spoon in his mouth? That was my babies favorite teething tool for a while 😂 If so, perhaps try putting something a bit thicker and yummy on the spoon to help him associate the high chair with eating and help him realize that it is a good thing. Then once he is doing that confidently, try to put other fun foods on the plate. Make it very low pressure though. Don’t hover over him, but sit at the table and just eat the same thing and act like it is REALLY delicious.
