First day of nursery and baby unsettled

After a few settling in sessions, today is my 1yr olds first day at nursery. Ill be picking him up earlier around 4. I just called to ask how he was doing and they said he didn't have breakfast cz he didnt want any but theyll keep trying. He is generally very attached to me and did cry during his settling in sessions. But didnt cry this morning. His elder sister was a dream - she was all smiles and loved nursery from day 1, but she never missed her meals! Is this normal?

Absolutely. It's all new to him and food probably just isn't his priority while he's taking in his new surroundings and new faces. He'll probably be eating better for them than he does for you within a few days once he's settled!

My lb didnt eat ir sleep right for the first few weeks & slowly got better! Fadt forward 4months and he eats like a king & sleeps pretty good👏🏻

Thanks all. Its just incredible how different siblings can be, hence I was not prepared!

My boys have had the exact opposite start too!

We’re totally in the same boat and got a call this afternoon around 14.30 to go and get him as he just wasn’t happy or eating. And exactly the same with elder sister being the dream settler! Really hoping it doesn’t last too long as it’s hard isn’t it 🥺 xx
