Fruit and veg

My baby won’t eat fruit and veg! Half of it she won’t even put in her mouth. She’ll have it mixed or cooked into things but in its natural form she won’t touch it. I made butternut squash sauce last night for pasta and she was happily eating it but noticed a chunk of squash and chucked that on the floor, I’ve tried giving her fruit or veg first but she just ignores it or throws it. I’ve tried giving her it off my plate, I’ve tried not filling her plate up and giving her one piece at a time, I’ve tried cutting it up differently. Sometimes she’ll put things in her mouth but just spit them out. Any ideas?

Keep offering it, change up the colors and flavors, give cooked and raw, mixed into things or blended into a sauce or smoothie and separate. The more you offer it on rotation, they will start to take bites here and there. That’s a win! If you don’t make it a big deal, they won’t either and it will start to stick. Don’t fully cater to it and hide everything, do both so they get the nutrients but also have the opportunity to experiment or you’ll create a bad habit that’s a pain to deal with later. Sometimes it’s simply a phase and will pass!

@Tiff she’s not taken to it since she started weaning, As I put in my post she’ll eat it mixed into foods or cooked into foods but won’t eat it on its own. I always put some on her plate but she either ignores it or throws it. Can you think of anything I’ve not mentioned that I’ve tried?

Honestly you’re doing a great job! I have three and have gone through this here and there and it’s all about the consistency of rotating even if they turn it down or throw it. Check out their Eating Highlight. In the course it’s for all ages from baby through young children!
