I went with my husband and it was lovely for him to be apart of it and to get to know our midwife. I didn’t need ask any questions as it was all just her asking us questions around family history and medical history. I had to give her a urine sample while I was there and then got a blood form for my first lot of antenatal bloods that need to be done before 10weeks. Didn’t need to do anything regarding birth plan only which hospital we are considering that’s all. She just explained that I’ll get sent the scan dates for 12 weeks in the post which I’ve received, and I will see her again for a 16 week checkup. It’s pretty chill. Oh she also did bmi, blood pressure
Thanks for the post and for the answers, very useful! 😍
@RD @Sophie-Jayne thank you, this is really helpful!! 🥰
@Beatriz that's ok! I know it's really scary the first time! Then your get sick of going every other week and peeing in your cup 🙃😂
@Sophie-Jayne they sent me a pre-book questionnaire and it was overwhelming to fill! Made me overthink about my family health history 😂
You usually go in on your own first and they will ask you about your home life, partner, work etc. then your partner comes in and they will ask about family history/medical conditions and stuff. Take your bloods, weigh and measure you and if I'm not mistaken you pee in a cup!. Blood pressure taken. Then will ask you loads of questions about drinking etc; run through how the appointments will work: I'm sure that's about it for the first one! X
